Longford Lights

Since 2022, Longford County Council has been developing a new winter festival called Longford Lights. The festival is a large outdoor art exhibition of illumination-based art installations made by local communities and professional artists. The festival is extremely popular with regular attendances of over 11,000 people.

In 2023, Longford County Council’s Arts Service invited Mide Arts Group to participate in Longford Lights 2024 as a partner. Mide participated in performance elements of the festival including samba and puppetry. Mide received funding support through the Arts Council’s FIS programme, Creative Ireland and Longford Tourism.
